CRUISE 2 TRIP REPORT

Short Form

What a wonderful voyage! We departed New Bern, NC December 31, 2004 and crossed to the Bahamas February 2, 2005. We departed Nassau May 8, 2005 and made our entry to the US at West Palm Beach May 9. It took us until May, 23 to get back to our home in New Bern. We traveled over 2,000 miles, visited 17 different islands and even more locations. We had our first cruising guests on board, met some friends from last year, made some new ones, and enjoyed the Bahamas at least as much as on Cruise #1.

We considered Cruise #1 our freshman year so we have now passed our sophomore year and, next year will no longer be underclassmen. We tried more new things and had an easier time overall. We questioned our sanity regarding having a dog on board less often and Toby was a better boat dog overall.

There were more equipment failures on the boat but we generally took care of them without undue inconvenience. On the whole, the weather was better and we sailed more. There were still many days where the wind blew from whence we wished to go and the engines were used a lot.

We did more offshore sailing going north and south and had some beautiful days on the water doing so.
